March 2011: In Like a Lion ... Super Windy or a Tornado???

Our missing Chicken House - see the green one in the distance?  That is how far it traveled!

Not sure how it managed to land straight up!  Did it roll?  Fly?

See that other one out there?  This is in 'the back 40' East of the back yard.  The missing chicken house was found north of the yard!

Can you see it?  Peek behind the brown building!

Another View of the landing spot!

Holy guacamole.  This morning about 6:15 am Jake announced to all of us that 'hey, one of the chicken houses is missing'!

Sure enough... Out in back 40 (as I call it), one of the portable chicken houses that we use during the grass season for the free range hens, was missing!

The wind had been blowing super duper hard during the night.  Super duper hard.

And, here is the evidence!

No chickens were hurt.  They are all wintering in the big 'yellow shed' (aka previous owners RV garage) - that you see in the first photo!

I wonder... did that chicken house just tumble and tumble or did a tornado hit and carry it?

A mystery... but at least nothing was hurt in the process!

LOL! Glad to hear nothing--and no one--was hurt. I know a little something about strong blowing winds! I still have to chase my trash lids down the streets sometimes. I enjoyed your tale about Sami's games and totally appreciate the comment about the teens not wanting 'mom' to hang out. My teenager didn't even want us at the games, but that wasn't going to happen, although we only traveled to one since most away games were on school days. Such is the life re sports and small, small towns. It certainly makes for good stories for friends back east and oddly enough, makes me feel kind of unique and special in a weird kind of way.

I meant to post regarding your comment about feeling a bit blue when your "local" dry cleaner shop closed, but studies got in the way and I never got around to it. We recently acquired a second dry cleaners, but don't know how long the new one will last, although competition is good! Just got notice that two downtown shops are closing, in addition to the wine and martini bar that has been a nice little refuge since we moved here. New shops continue to occasionally open but it seems more close than open. With Cheyenne and Ft Collins just 50+ miles away, people tend to shop there versus in town. Kind of frustrating and depressing... So what was I saying earlier about feeling kind of unique and special living in a small town...???

Hope all is well on the ranch. Over spring break (in a week), hope to catch up on some crafting and to revisit your other place...

This was a very nice farm I've seen. South Texas Ranches For Sale like Texas, you can build your own ranch. Love animals to be raised in a farm like this.
