My markets have come to a close, and Dick is still traveling to Portland. His market doesn't end until mid-December, however, he will be out of town November 13th for a HUGE Grassfed Beef conference. I'm not sure what his plan will be when the storms hit - we usually get a 'big one' the first week of December!
We have one more group of cattle to be harvested at the end of this month, and that will 'close' our grass fed and grass finished crop for this season. If you are wanting any custom beef orders, please let us know!
All the lambs have gone, and all the pasture poultry have gone. However, we are 'stocked up' in boxed inventory for winter deliveries, Easter, and the first markets for next season until the 2011 grass get's underway.
The free range chickens are still laying eggs.. although in a pitiful quantity. I only boxed 2 dozen last night! Not a big crop compared to the 100 per day we were getting at our peak in midsummer. And speaking of eggs, we will be getting more chicks during the week of Thanksgiving.. it takes about 6 months before they lay, so we have to plan now for next year's markets!
My Winter Deliveries are scheduled around the third weekend of each month. The next two months I actually have meetings on Saturday, so I have to do 'weekday' deliveries. Please note these are the days to get any holiday roasts such as: Prime Rib, Leg of Lamb, or, Rack of Lamb.
Here are the days:
November: Eastern Oregon (Baker - 10am, La Grande - noon, Pendleton - 1:30pm) will be on Friday, November 19th. Boise, Idaho will be Monday, November 22nd - at noon.
December: Eastern Oregon: Friday, December 17th. Boise, Idaho: Monday, December 20th.
Please email your pre-orders! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
Enjoy the rest of your Fall!
